What are the Funniest Books?

Hello Funny One here. I just discovered the Bastarde books. Serge Bastarde Ate My Baguette: On the Road in Real Rural France and Son of Serge Bastarde: Mayhem in the Antiques Markets of Rural France. The first book, Serge Bastarde Ate My Baguette, John, who moves to France to start up as an antiques dealer, but he doesn’t count on meeting Serge Bastarde. The lovable rogue and brocanteur (secondhand goods dealer) offers to teach John the tricks of the trade in return for help in a series of corrupt schemes. As the pair travel through markets and farmhouses, they con hearty lunches from old peasants and get into scrapes with priceless collectibles. The book is filled with eccentric characters and unlikely adventures, this is a hilarious romp through the real rural France. The son of Serge Bastarde is about John’s unscrupulous yet affable partner in crime, Serge Bastarde, marries and moves to Martinique. But, like a bad penny, Serge returns, his personal life in ruins. What follows is a chaotic adventure which sees John being coerced into striking deals with the Romanian ‘mafia¡’, re-roofing a huge Basque house and getting trapped in a skip in the dead of night, while Serge rides an emotional roller coaster. Serge may be as fake as some of his antiques but, with John’s help, he eventually strikes gold in this laugh-out-loud romp. It makes me wonder if there are any other good funny books out there. I wouldn’t mind knowing. What are the funniest books? Well I love the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid series. So funny. Captain Underpants. George and Harold hypnotize their headteacher and accidentally create the greatest superhero in the history of their school — Captain Underpants! His real identity is so super secret that even HE doesn’t know who he is… but he’s fighting for truth, justice, and all things pre-shrunk and cottony!! Captain Underpants has wedgie-power on his side, and he’s coming your way! Super Diaper Baby is also super funny. A man is turned into a poo. I don’t know whats more funny than that? The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists is also a great book. It’s 1837, and the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain and his pirate crew, life on the high seas has gotten a little dull. They get bored and decide it’s time fort another adventure. A surprisingly successful boat raid leads them to the young Charles Darwin, in desperate need of their help. The pirates go to London in a bid to save the scientist from the evil machinations of an evil Bishop. I loved the movie. In the movie the Queen of England is in it instead of the evil bishop. Also another funny book is “The Twits” by Roald Dahl. Mr and Mrs Twit are extremely mean, so the Muggle-Wump monkeys and the Roly-Poly bird hatch a clever plan to give them just the horrifying surprise they deserve! J K Rowling’s new novel “The Casual Vacancy” is a dark comedy. I haven’t read it but I’ll be reading it soon. What are the funniest books? If anyone knows of any good humor books then I would love to know about them. Anyways, I thought as I’m writing about funny books I thought I would turn myself into a wimpy kid character. I also turned Andy Samberg into one too. Hehehehe!

Mmmm cheese. http://www.cafedegas.com/ I’ll stick with food. There are some restaurants I wouldn’t mind going to. Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen is based on the designs of the original 1834 structure. It has more than 200 dining guests. There are  seasonal balcony dining, spacious dining rooms on both the first and second floors and a relaxed climate-controlled courtyard for dining al fresco. http://www.chefpaul.com/kpaul  The Ruffino’s Italian Restaurant, What do you get when you combine the talents of a former LSU lineman and a New Orleans-born Italian chef? Delicious Italian food. They even have my favorite wine, Chianti. Mmmmm Chianti. The menu looks amazing. They have la caprese salad, tomato vodka cream pasta, alfredo sauce pasta, sorbet, tiramisu and crème brûlée. http://www.ruffinosrestaurant.com, The Little Village started with a raid. Back in 1945, a young entrepreneur, Vince Distefano was running a card game called Georgia Skin out of a leased building on Florida Boulevard. The men played for horses. Vince’s wife, Stephanie, made good tips cooking for the crowd. There was a surprise morning visit from a local sheriff and the entire inhabitants  including the Distefanos were hauled off to jail. The sheriff was not above the occasional “unofficial” visit the Distefano establishment and offered some sage advice, Get out of town – at least outside the city limits. So the family bought a wooded seven-acre fishing camp on Airline Highway from the Catholic Church and built a new place beyond the long arm of the law. As the games’ participants grew and the cars parked out front increased, travelers often mistook the building for a restaurant. Eventually, the Distefanos decided they might as well feed all those hungry motorists and The Village restaurant was born. http://www.littlevillagebr.com/  The Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro has provided the best in live jazz & great regional cooking at reasonable prices for over 30 years. It’s located in three rooms of a renovated 1800’s storefront located in the Faubourg Mariginy, just outside the French Quarter. They have a dining room, a bar, and a music room. they also have Chianti. They also have salmon and tuna. Mmmm salmon and tuna.

Both of them are “products of the talent and skills of the Norfolk & Western personnel who designed and built these locomotives in the N & W’s own Roanoke Shops.” The Museum’s road exhibits present a history of transportation ranging from horse-drawn vehicles to modern high-powered cars and trucks. Did you know that in 2006, a severe storm blew off part of the museum’s roof, destroying the aviation gallery below? This gave the Museum an opportunity to rebuild the gallery from the ground up. Your financial contribution is needed to help complete the gallery and reopen this important resource.

When in Georgia

Hello Funny One Here. Today is my sister’s birthday so I’ll say happy birthday to her. Today I’ve been doing some drawing – two pictures for today’s state and some others I’ve been working on. Today’s state is Georgia. What is there to do in Georgia? Well there’s Legoland. As you can see, I have drawn myself as a Lego character with Spiderman and the Joker. I thought, why not? I also drew myself in a bath filled with Coca-Cola. My sister whose birthday is today thought I was in a cannon and my mum thought I was in a cola bottle!?! At the Coca-Cola factory they have a tour. I wouldn’t mind going. Another awesome thing, I just found out that there’s a Medieval Times in Georgia. That looks so cool. I have to go there!

What else is there to do? There are pumpkin festivals (I have to go to one) there’s the Albany Panthers (Whoo FOOTBALL!!!) plus a lot of other stuff, too like the Stone Mountain Park, Booth Western Museum, Folk Pottery Museum, Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum, and the Providence Canyon State Park. If you love nature then you’ll want to visit these following places: Dick’s Creek Falls, Sweetwater Creek State Park, Callaway Gardens, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Rock City Gardens. But, if you’d like to learn more about American history then you can go to the Civil War Village of Andersonville, and the Chickamauga. Anyways, I’ll leave it there for now. As they say in Rome (Italy, not Rome, Georgia!), ciao!

Dollywood and Vine

Hello, Funny One Back again. I drew a few funny pictures today. Two of them are for today’s state which is Tennessee. I know I said I would do one picture a day but I had two ideas and couldn’t decide which one to do so I did both. I may do more pictures for some states. Anyways, things to do in Tennessee – visit Graceland,  the home of Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee. See where he lived, see his famous pink Cadillac, climb aboard the customed jet that features a living room, conference room, sitting room and a bedroom. Guess what, there are even gold plated seat belts, suede chairs, leather covered tables, 24 karat gold flecked sinks and much more. Talk about luxury! Anyways, the website is http://www.elvis.com/

Another celeb trip idea – visit Dollywood, the theme park owned by Dolly Parton. Dollywood is structured into ten themed areas. The Showstreet, Rivertown Junction, Craftsmen’s Valley, Village, Country Fair, Timber Canyon and Jukebox Junction – areas that reflect the historical eras and culture of East Tennessee. However, the Dreamland Forest and Adventures in Imagination areas explore Dolly Parton’s life and imagination. The website for it is http://www.dollywood.com/

What else to do there? How about a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium, or the Sun Studio (where Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King all recorded their famous hits) Perhaps the Lookout Mountain interests you. It’s the perfect destination with an amazing view. Also there is the Rock City Gardens, the Dixie Stampede, the Tuckaleechee Caverns, the Memphis zoo and aquarium, Old Jail Museum and the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where you can buy a copy of the Heart of the Ocean necklace. I couldn’t afford even the fake one, but I wouldn’t say no if someone wanted to buy me one.

There’s the Prichards’ Distillery which produces award winning Tennessee Rum & Spirits. Their products include Prichard’s Fine Rum, Crystal Rum, Cranberry Rum, Key Lime Rum, Sweet Georgia Belle Peach Mango Rum, Private Stock Rum, Sweet Lucy Bourbon Liqueur and Benjamin Prichards’ Double Barreled Bourbon. Mmmmmm Rum. obviously you’ll need to sleep in a hotel, so here are some interesting ones to stay in.  The Peabody Memphis, a hotel well known for the famous “Peabody Ducks” that live on the hotel rooftop. They do make their daily treks to the hotel’s lobby in a daily “March of Ducks” celebration. Read all about it on their website http://www.peabodymemphis.com/. Another hotel to stay in is the Heartbreak Hotel. It has 128 rooms and is very near to Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Anyways, I’ll finish here. Thank you. Thank you very much…
