This picture is of me and Andy Samberg in Hawaii. I just thought it would look funny if Andy was being the creep and sneaking up on me.

I drew three pictures for it. I’m at Cafe Degas. It’s a French bistro in New Orleans that is dedicated to the artist who was over there for a while. It looks good. I’d have the cheese selection. Mmmm cheese. http://www.cafedegas.com/ I’ll stick with food. There are some restaurants I wouldn’t mind going to. Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen is based on the designs of the original 1834 structure. It has more than 200 dining guests. There are  seasonal balcony dining, spacious dining rooms on both the first and second floors and a relaxed climate-controlled courtyard for dining al fresco. http://www.chefpaul.com/kpaul  The Ruffino’s Italian Restaurant, What do you get when you combine the talents of a former LSU lineman and a New Orleans-born Italian chef? Delicious Italian food. They even have my favorite wine, Chianti. Mmmmm Chianti. The menu looks amazing. They have la caprese salad, tomato vodka cream pasta, alfredo sauce pasta, sorbet, tiramisu and crème brûlée. http://www.ruffinosrestaurant.com, The Little Village started with a raid. Back in 1945, a young entrepreneur, Vince Distefano was running a card game called Georgia Skin out of a leased building on Florida Boulevard. The men played for horses. Vince’s wife, Stephanie, made good tips cooking for the crowd. There was a surprise morning visit from a local sheriff and the entire inhabitants  including the Distefanos were hauled off to jail. The sheriff was not above the occasional “unofficial” visit the Distefano establishment and offered some sage advice, Get out of town – at least outside the city limits. So the family bought a wooded seven-acre fishing camp on Airline Highway from the Catholic Church and built a new place beyond the long arm of the law. As the games’ participants grew and the cars parked out front increased, travelers often mistook the building for a restaurant. Eventually, the Distefanos decided they might as well feed all those hungry motorists and The Village restaurant was born. http://www.littlevillagebr.com/  The Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro has provided the best in live jazz & great regional cooking at reasonable prices for over 30 years. It’s located in three rooms of a renovated 1800’s storefront located in the Faubourg Mariginy, just outside the French Quarter. They have a dining room, a bar, and a music room. they also have Chianti. They also have salmon and tuna. Mmmm salmon and tuna.

Winnfield is considered the birthplace of politics and is home of the Louisiana Political Museum & Hall of Fame. It’s also the birthplace of three Louisiana Governors,  Huey P. Long, Earl K. Long, and O.K. Allen. http://www.lapoliticalmuseum.com/  There’s the Abita Mystery House is Louisiana’s Most Eccentric Attraction. You’ll see handmade folk art animated scenes of Southern life by Louisiana inventor and artist, John Preble.  There are over 50,000 found and recycled objects, there’s a Mardi Gras parade, a New Orleans jazz funeral, a rhythm and blues dance hall, a haunted Southern plantation and much more interesting things! Don’t forget to bring a sense of humor and an open mind. Sounds like fun. http://abitamysteryhouse.com/  They have a Mardi Gras festival in New Oreans. I drew myself at the festival. I’m wearing a peacock style bikini. It would be difficult to sit down in it as it has a big tail. There is also the Baton Rouge Blues Festival is one of the oldest blues festivals in America. This free festival offers a full range of popular southern cuisine. Go and relax in Baton Rouge for the weekend.

Crumbling Cookies for the Captain

Hello, It’s me, the Funny One. I did two funny drawings for the funny newspaper, and I’ll do more tomorrow! Two are better than none. Today’s state is Ohio. That’s where Captain Underpants is from. This is the author’s website.  http://www.pilkey.com/  His books are great! Also, in Ohio there is an underwear festival, and that’s what gave me the idea for today’s picture. What is there to do in Ohio? You can go and see the Ohio Statehouse. It’s one of America’s finest examples of Greek Revival Architecture and is one of the oldest working Statehouses in the United States. There is also the Buckeye Book Fair. If you go you will have the opportunity to meet nearly 100 famous Ohio writers, illustrators and photographers. You’ll also be able to get autographed copies of their latest books at a discount. There’s also the Pump House Center For The Arts. It was built-in 1882 as the water source to fight fires for the historic city of Chillicothe, plus there’s the Huntsburg Pumpkin Festival. I love pumpkins. Visit the Concourse Gallery and see fun and interesting paintings by Lee Csuri. They’ll put a smile on your face. Go in the Three-acre Corn Maze. That could be fun, but I would probably get lost and be in there all night. Well, at least I could eat the corn. The Earth Science Week Fossil Tour is where you’ll learn all about fossils. Learn about how geoscientists gather and interpret data about the Earth and other planets. That sounds cool! http://www.earthsciweek.org./ There’s also wine tasting festivals here, too. Mmmmm wine. There’s the Annual Antique Motorcycle Exhibit. That would be so cool to go to. Visit Williams Park to see “Sculpture in the Village” and walk among sculptures which are among the trees, flowers and the lake. It’s FREE to go. I like it best when things are free. The sculptures in the park represent many of the most prominent sculptors from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Vermont and will be on display for one year for all to enjoy.  Grand Return of the Scarecrows, when the leaves fall from the tress, the weathers changes and the harvesting of pumpkins, you know that it’s time for the Grand Return of the Scarecrows. Great Fun! If you like baking, like me, then there’s the Holiday Cookie Tour. The ticket price includes a map of the participating locations, a decorative holiday container and a gift certificate to a downtown eatery. Ticket holders will visit all the participating shops to collect homemade cookies, coupons and recipe cards to fill the containers. Mmmmmm Cookies. If you like trains, there’s the The Flag City Train Show which includes model trains, toy trains, and railroad memorabilia for sale by various dealers. After paying admission, the ticket prices are $2.00 adults and $1.00 children 12 and younger, during show hours.  The train will make a stop at the 1920s era B&O caboose for a tour inside.  Watch various toy and model train layouts as well as a display of antique Erector sets.  Explore many other displays in the railroad museum. Food service all day. That’s great! Mmmmm food service.  There is so much to do in Ohio and I can’t mention them all. I’ll leave it there for now with my fun pic!
