Up Uranus

Hello Funny One here. Today I drew Uranus. It’s the seventh smallest planet in the solar system and the seventh planet from the Sun. Uranus is mainly composed of ices and rock. It also has 27 moons. The other large planets have extremely hot cores, and radiate infrared radiation. Something made the core of Uranus cool down to the point that it doesn’t radiate much heat. The temperature of the cloud tops on Uranus can drop down to 49 K. It was the first planet discovered by telescope. It spins lying on its  side, like a barrel, this is possibly due to a large collision early in its formation.

I have also drawn a cartoon. I’ll hopefully be doing more, one every day of me trying to get into America. Today’s cartoon is called “Flight Plan”.

#1 Flight Plan

In the cartoon I’m trying to sneak into America in a suitcase. Someone who works there finds the unattended suitcase. He thinks there is a bomb in the suitcase so it gets blown up.

Crumbling Cookies for the Captain

Hello, It’s me, the Funny One. I did two funny drawings for the funny newspaper, and I’ll do more tomorrow! Two are better than none. Today’s state is Ohio. That’s where Captain Underpants is from. This is the author’s website.  http://www.pilkey.com/  His books are great! Also, in Ohio there is an underwear festival, and that’s what gave me the idea for today’s picture. What is there to do in Ohio? You can go and see the Ohio Statehouse. It’s one of America’s finest examples of Greek Revival Architecture and is one of the oldest working Statehouses in the United States. There is also the Buckeye Book Fair. If you go you will have the opportunity to meet nearly 100 famous Ohio writers, illustrators and photographers. You’ll also be able to get autographed copies of their latest books at a discount. There’s also the Pump House Center For The Arts. It was built-in 1882 as the water source to fight fires for the historic city of Chillicothe, plus there’s the Huntsburg Pumpkin Festival. I love pumpkins. Visit the Concourse Gallery and see fun and interesting paintings by Lee Csuri. They’ll put a smile on your face. Go in the Three-acre Corn Maze. That could be fun, but I would probably get lost and be in there all night. Well, at least I could eat the corn. The Earth Science Week Fossil Tour is where you’ll learn all about fossils. Learn about how geoscientists gather and interpret data about the Earth and other planets. That sounds cool! http://www.earthsciweek.org./ There’s also wine tasting festivals here, too. Mmmmm wine. There’s the Annual Antique Motorcycle Exhibit. That would be so cool to go to. Visit Williams Park to see “Sculpture in the Village” and walk among sculptures which are among the trees, flowers and the lake. It’s FREE to go. I like it best when things are free. The sculptures in the park represent many of the most prominent sculptors from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Vermont and will be on display for one year for all to enjoy.  Grand Return of the Scarecrows, when the leaves fall from the tress, the weathers changes and the harvesting of pumpkins, you know that it’s time for the Grand Return of the Scarecrows. Great Fun! If you like baking, like me, then there’s the Holiday Cookie Tour. The ticket price includes a map of the participating locations, a decorative holiday container and a gift certificate to a downtown eatery. Ticket holders will visit all the participating shops to collect homemade cookies, coupons and recipe cards to fill the containers. Mmmmmm Cookies. If you like trains, there’s the The Flag City Train Show which includes model trains, toy trains, and railroad memorabilia for sale by various dealers. After paying admission, the ticket prices are $2.00 adults and $1.00 children 12 and younger, during show hours.  The train will make a stop at the 1920s era B&O caboose for a tour inside.  Watch various toy and model train layouts as well as a display of antique Erector sets.  Explore many other displays in the railroad museum. Food service all day. That’s great! Mmmmm food service.  There is so much to do in Ohio and I can’t mention them all. I’ll leave it there for now with my fun pic!

Very Vermont!

Hello, Funny One here. I didn’t do much writing today, but it is the weekend though! I will get back to writing my funny stuff tomorrow.

Today’s state is Vermont. What things can you do in Vermont? Go Camping. I wouldn’t mind.

There is the “Bread And Puppet Theater”. It sounds cool! I have drawn some of the puppets in today’s picture. Two of them are drinking cider. What is there to do. There’s a tour around Ben And Jerry’s. I love ice cream so I’d love to do that. Mmmmmm ice cream. There is a Dutch Pancake Cafe which apparently sells so many different  combinations of sweet or savory pancakes. Mmmmmm pancakes.

Theres the ECHO Lake Aquarium And Science Center. They have many cool exhibits! Fairbanks Museum And Planetarium looks cool too. There are so many cool things I don’t have time to type them all down.

There’s a Vermont Country Store that sells lots of yummy candies. Salt Water Taffy, Fudge, Bunny Barley Pops, Gumdrops, Fruit-flavored Rods, Nougats and many more yummy candy. Mmmmm candy. There is a cool pizzeria and lounge called the “Piecasso”. Now I have to go there at least once. There’s the Lake Champlian Chocolates factory. Of course would go there as I love chocolate. Mmmmm chocolate.

Oh, and there’s an Old Hollow Cider Mill. Get some homemade fudge and some cider. Mmmmm homemade fudge and cider. There’s a Grafton Village Cheese Company. I love cheese. I better leave it there for now. Pumpkinhead is on TV, I’ll watch some of that. I love that movie!
